- This is the number of pupils achieving 5 or more GCSEs at grades A* to C (including English and Maths) or equivalent, as a percentage of pupils at the end of key stage 4 in schools maintained by the local authority, at the end of the academic year reported.
Educational attainment is influenced by both the quality of education children recieve and their family's socioeconomic circumstances. Educational qualifications are a determinant of an individual's labour market position, which in turn influences income, housing and other material resources. These are related to health and health inequalities.
The source data for this indicator was produced at Middle Super Output Area (MSOA) level for the Local Health profiles. Low level counts have been suppressed and therefore local figures will not sum up to the national figures.
