- This is the number of people stating their ethnicity as 'not White' (not any White category), as a percentage of the total number of respondents to the question.
The population whose ethnicity is not White has continued to grow from the 2001 Census to the 2021 Census, both in terms of number and proportion, in most areas in England. This makes it an important social and health care policy issue in terms of service delivery.
