- DISCONTINUED DATA - Final available dataset:sch_2011_12. This is the percentage of pupils in state funded primary schools whose first language is English, achieving level 4 or above including English & mathematics at Key Stage 2. This is based on pupils at the end of Key Stage 4 in the academic year reported, in all state funded primary schools. The description ‘state-funded primary schools’ refers to those schools maintained by the local authority, including middle schools deemed as primary and academies. Pupils include those whose language is not known, but believed to be English.
In 2012, English was calculated from reading test results and writing teacher assessment rather than from reading and writing tests as in previous years. Whilst year on year comparisons can still be useful, data for 2012 cannot be directly compared with earlier years.
