Did you know we have a dedicated powers and duties tool?
Available to LG Inform Plus subscribers, it provides information on what current legislation gives English and Welsh councils the power to do and what it requires them to do in law. Advanced searching and filtering options make it easy to find specific powers and duties based on legislation, business function and keyword, and results are easily exported in commonly used formats.

Proportion of carers who report that they have been included or consulted in discussion about the person they care for (Pre 2016-17) (10683) Metric type
- Help text
- This measure the percentage of all those responding 'I always felt involved or consulted' and 'I usually felt involved or consulted', to the Carers Survey question 15: 'In the last 12 months, do you feel you have been involved or consulted as much as you wanted to be, in discussions about the support or services provided to the person you care for'
In 2014/15 a change to the weighting methodology for national, regional and council-type results in the SACE was made. For the calculation of regional and national results, each local authority became a stratum and a unique set of weights was calculated for each question by dividing the count of the population of concern by the count of usable responses to that question (the inverse probability of responding to that question) in each local authority. This change improves the accuracy of the aggregate level results because variability in sampling and response rates between local authorities is accounted for.
