Adjusted Social care-related quality of life impact of Adult Social Care services (10679) Metric type
- Help text
- This measure is based on the quality of life scores arising from responses to the Adult Social Care Survey. It is a composite measure using responses to survey questions covering the eight domains identified in the ASCOT; control, dignity, personal care, food and nutrition, safety, occupation, social participation and accommodation.
This measure gives a further insight into the quality of life of users of social care. It is based on the outcome domains of social care-related quality of life identified in the Adult Social Care Outcomes Toolkit (ASCOT) developed by the Personal Social Services Research Unit (www.pssru.ac.uk/ascot). Subsequent research from the Quality and Outcomes of Person Centred Care Policy Research unit has identified a way of identifying the impact of LA Adult Social Care services on individual social care related quality of life.
Only covers people receiving partly or wholly supported care from their Local Authority and not wholly private, self-funded care.
