- This is the number of applications for prior approval for permitted development commercial, business and service to residential where the application was refused.
With effect from 1 October 2021, 'Commercial, business and service to residentiall' replaces 'From light industrial to residential'. In turn from 1 December 2019, 'From light industrial to residential' replaces 'From storage or distribution centres or light industrial to residential' following the ending for the time-limited permitted development right for 'storage or distribution centres to residential' with effect from 10 June 2019. This, in turn, had been introduced with effect from 1 October 2017, replacing 'From storage or distribution centres to residential', which in turn had been introduced on 1 October 2016, replacing 'Agricultural buildings to flexible uses', for which figures were collected and had been published for previous quarters from 1 April 2014.
Refused applications include:
- any applications where the local planning authority consider that the development is not acceptable under the requirements of prior approval and has provided written notice that the prior approval is refused;
- any applications where the local planning authority consider that the proposed development does not comply with or the developer has provided insufficient information to enable the authority to establish whether the proposed development complies with any conditions, limitations or restrictions of the permitted development and has provided written notice that the prior approval is refused.
