Local groups and organisations which can offer advice and support to those suffering from long term health conditions such as autism, diabetes, osteoporosis and many others. Some groups or organisations may work with specified conditions while others may be more general.

Opticians providing sight care, including glasses and contact lenses and optometrists who are able to treat eye conditions. Some opticians may provide home visits for those unable to attend the shop.

Local pharmacies (chemists). Many of these work with the local council to become "healthy living pharmacies' which are awarded a quality mark of excellence, assuring people using them of their high standards of service and care
