Child welfare - report on child's circumstances Duty

Description
Where a local authority has been instructed to investigate a child's circumstances by a court and decide not to apply for a care or supervision order the authority must report to the court their reasons for so deciding, any service or assistance which they have provided, or intend to provide, for the child and his family and any other action which they have taken, or propose to take, with respect to the child.

The report should be made within 8 weeks of the direction to investigate unless the court otherwise directs.
