- A maintained school/local authority must follow prescribed arrangements for the constitution of governing bodies of maintained schools, (which includes maintained nursery schools) including the appointment of parent, staff, LA, foundation and partnership governors, their term of office and removal and provide copies of the instrument of government to every member of the governing body, the head teacher and others as prescribed and applicable
