Local government - referendum on governance Duty
- Description
- An LA must hold a referendum on whether a local authority should change to a different form of governance if a valid petition is received with the support of at least 5% of the local government electors in the authority's area.
The LA must follow the prescribed procedure including giving public notice of notices received and any referendum to be held.
