Disabled persons - duty to consider needs of disabled persons Duty
- Description
- When requested to do so by—
(a) a disabled person,
(b) his authorised representative, or
(c) any person who provides care for him in the circumstances mentioned in section 8,
a local authority shall decide whether the needs of the disabled person call for the provision by the authority of any services in accordance with section 2(1) or (4) of the 1970 Act (provision of welfare services).
In the case of a local authority in England this section applies only if the disabled person is aged under 18.
